This week's hashtag is what everyone is (and will) be talking about #WriteOnCon.  It's a free online conference for writers full of great insights into the publishing industry and into the writing process itself.  Some of your favorite authors will be there.  Agents, Editors, and lots and lots of great up and coming writers in the community.  It's pretty epic and in its third year (we've been there for all of them!)

An interesting discussion ensued after @novarensuma tweeted this:

More Writing Schtuff:

The Funnies (you know it's the part you skip to):

The Business:

NPR released a list of 100 books as voted by YOU...but these things are so subjective:

Getting Serious:

True...but chin up...It's Shark Week!!!!
Hope to see you around The Con...and if you're missing twitter because you're busy in the forums (it is a vortex that sucks you in) check back here next week to see what you missed!  xx

Oh man, Jessica BS made me laugh out loud - FOR REAL.

Also <3 the politics tweets and Nova Ren (et al)'s discussion of writing for oneself.

Writing for yourself is good advice to hear over and over again. I know I'm working on something crazy (well, I think it is anyway), but that's the story *I* want to read.

Awesome tweets this week. Interesting writer ones- I don't currently write, but I really want. I plan on completely sticking with the next story I write and actually finishing it. I have so much respect and admiration for authors- it's insane being able to finish a book, especially something worthwhile reading.

The amount of novella-length, terrible terrible stories I have written and saved on floppy disks is embarrassing. I'm somewhat saddened, though, that there's no way to access them to read for facepalm fun.

@kaye - check your local library. they may have computers with floppy drives, so you can resave your stuff!
